The Art of Horizon Zero Dawn zeigt die Schönheit des Spiels in ganzer Pracht. Zudem ist es sehr ausführlich und bietet einen sehr tiefen Einblick in die Entwicklung und die design Entscheidungen des Spiels. Jeder Tribe wird einzeln vorgestellt. Wie und wo sie leben, was ihre Kultur ausmacht und so weiter. Die Bilder sind alle wirklich qualitativ sehr hochwertig und wunderschön. Auch die Landschaft und die Architektur in Horizon wird sehr ausführlich behandelt. Die Maschinen haben ihr eigenes Kapitel was ich fantastisch finde. Auf jeder Seite sind kurze Texte und Erklärungen zu den jeweiligen Abbildungen vorhanden. Sie sind echt sehr schön geschrieben. Durch sie versteht man das ganze Horizon Universum viel besser, wie z.B Alloys Außenseiter Rolle. Die Texte sind zum Glück in Englisch verfasst. Eine schlechte Übersetztung würde die ganze Erfahrungen kaputt machen. Ich kann das Buch jedem Horizon-Fan nur empfehlen. Jeder der es ließt wird die Entscheidung der Designer und dem Grund warum Dinge in Horizon so sind, wie sie sind besser verstehen.Ich besitze einige ArtBooks, aber dieses ist bist jetzt das Beste und ich war sowohl von der Qualität als auch vom Inhalt echt erstaunt.
Ich muss der allgemeinen Begeisterung beipflichten: „Horizon Zero Dawn“ ist für mich das beste Spiel, welches ich in den letzten Jahren spielte, und in meinen Augen ein echter Meilenstein. Selten hat mich in den letzten 35 Jahren ein Game derart verzaubert und fasziniert – meiner Ansicht nach stimmt hier einfach alles, von der Protagonistin über das Gameplay bis hin zum originellen und unverbrauchten Setting.Wichtiger Teil dieser Faszination ist natürlich die liebevoll ausgestaltete Welt – und man merkt schon nach sehr kurzer Zeit des Spielens, dass sich die Macher viele Gedanken über das Worldbuilding gemacht haben, die Welt von „Horizon Zero Dawn“ wirkt sehr schlüssig und extrem stimmungsvoll. Genau dies bringt mich zum hier rezensierten THE ART OF HORIZON ZERO DAWN, denn dieses Buch zeigt viele Details aus der Welt, welche man beim Spielen oftmals gar nicht genau wahrnimmt. Ganz offenkundig dokumentiert das Werk die Akribie der Macher, Siedlungen, Locations (Bunker etc) und Landschaften glaubwürdig und stimmig zu designen. Vorgestellt werden die Kleidungen und Ausrüstungen der Stämme, von Eclipse und der Banditen, genauso wie man Orte wie Meridian und Konzeptzeichnungen sowie Landschaftsdarstellungen bestaunen kann… und natürlich die atemberaubenden Maschinen.Die Bilder und die kurzen Erläuterungstexte sind allesamt sehr gelungen, gerade die Details von Ausrüstungs- und Möbelstücken fand ich komischerweise spannend. Schade finde ich, dass man in diesem Bildband nicht mehr von den Maschinen sieht – denn diese stählernen Ungetüme hätten ruhig noch mehr Seiten bekommen können, schließlich sind sie es auch, was „Horizon Zero Dawn“ diese ganz eigene Stimmung verleiht und das Spiel optisch so beeindruckend macht. Meiner Ansicht nach hätte es THE ART OF HORIZON ZERO DAWN nicht geschadet, jeder Maschinen-Spezies eine Seite oder eine Doppelseite zu widmen und diese Konstrukte dem Leser aus der Nähe zu zeigen. Die Verarbeitung des Bildbandes ist sehr solide, die gesamte Aufmachung ebenfalls gelungen.Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Buch, welches Fan dieses Spiels durchaus empfohlen werden kann – von mir gibt’s 4 Sterne.
Das Spiel war schon der Hammer und das Buch ist auch der Hammer! Dieses Buch gibt es auch als eine streng limitierte Sonderauflage für mehrere hundert euros glaub 300€ herum. Ich hab dieses Buch im Vergleich gesehen, ich kann nur absolut jedem empfehlen, sucht nicht nach dem limitierten, es lohnt sich nicht dafür soviel Geld auszugeben ( ausverkauft und dadurch verkaufen die Leute es für noch teurer ) Der einzige Unterschied zu diesem ist das Frontcover und eine doppel Extra Seite im Inneren und halt ne besondere Verpackung mit paar Postkarten. Ansonsten ist alles absolut identisch :D dafür gibt es das hier für nen zehntel!Das Buch ist absolut hochwertig und TOP, kann ich nur jedem empfehlen!

I have always been a fan of movies or video game art books, they show much of the iterative processes and alternatives that never came to be, interesting tangents and the idea behind it all, and also show you in detail the designs that did actually make it.Now, in this book you won't find much of that, much of the content is glossed over, even for Aloy, they show you just a bit of the iterative process but about the final designs, almost nothing, especially from all the different outfits, there are only some miniature images, THATS IT; just in contrast in many of the art of star wars they would even tell you the parts of a lightsaber, THE PARTS! And then in the lord of the right the art of the return of the king, there are many drawings regarding the crossroads, anyone remembers what that place is? yeah, exactly.Of course, forgot about most of the characters, there is just ONE drawing of Rost, such an important character! And if you want to know what the hell are all those matriarch wearing and why you better play the game and walk around them, because there are only a couple of images and not of the final designs.Anyway, I am very disappointed, the only reason I am not angry is because what you get it is actually great, the art is awesome and so talented people worked on there, but I would have paid so much to see MORE! MUCH MORE!All the characters, the designs, the ideas, the parts, some of the 3D as well (Which btw there is almost none and as a 3D designer I am a bit bitter about that), the names of the things, etc.I would recommend it of course, but I am a bit angry with the people that decided what to put it and what to leave out, sorry, you did a pretty bad job.
